The JD760 and JD760A
An offset version of the 5020, used for scraper work

The JD760 was introduced in 1966, to replace the 5010 offset.
The JD760A was introduced for 1969, but was produced along with the JD760 and did not replace it.

It had some changes from the ag 5020 to suit it better for grader work:

• Industrial styling, with plate steel nose frame
• Offset operators station
• Heavier, and swept back front axle???? (not sure!)
• Different front and rear wheels, with split rims
• Heavier and longer frame rails, extend farther back on transmission
• Non adjustable rear axle
• Transmissions:
  • JD760--Two lever shuttle shift, with 8 speed Syncro Range transmission
  • JD760A--Eight speed Power Shift transmission

Options (that I know about):

• Vertical PTO--needed for driving the scraper
• Horizontal PTO
• Rear Counterweights--only needed for jobs not using the scraper. In fact, when installed, they effectively block the veritcal PTO shaft
• Rear wheel weights
• Cab
• Front Wheels
  • 10.00x15, 12 ply
  • 11.00x16, 12 ply
  • 14x17.50, 10 ply

The JD760 tractors were used to pull Model JD760 scrapers, and other heavy attachments.
